Overview

With its elegant white facade and picture-perfect views across St Mawes Bay, New Lodge epitomises luxury coastal living. Standing proudly on St Mawes’ waterfront, this splendid 8-person holiday home is just a hop, skip and a jump away from one of Cornwall’s prettiest sandy beaches, whilst also being located just a 5-minute walk from the charming town centre of yachty St Mawes.

Stylish, welcoming, and beautifully presented, New Lodge is a dream retreat that offers Cornish charm by the bucket (and spade) load!

Step Inside

New Lodge has been beautifully designed with an emphasis on comfort and luxury. A sophisticated colour palette of neutral tones has been selected to create the perfect ambience, which is further enhanced by an abundance of natural light. The sense of space and calm is continued with the home’s light oak flooring that runs throughout the living spaces. And pieces of vibrant, contemporary artwork add character to each room.

Stepping into the spacious entrance hallway, the eye is drawn to a bespoke staircase with a modern glass balustrade. There is also a perfectly placed office in a nook that leads off the hallway. Again, this benefits from plenty of natural light and it has been accessorised for maximum style points, with striking pieces of wall art and a cosy floor rug.

Moving into the living area, the holiday home has a modern fitted kitchen with views over the rear garden. The kitchen’s clean lines make for an exceptionally chic space that is superb for preparing meals for family and friends, and of course, it is also equipped with all the mod-cons you may need during your stay (including a utility room adjacent to the kitchen.)

For entertaining, there is a sophisticated dining area with a French-style dining table, seating 8. Surrounded by the warm glow of table lamps, you will be able to enjoy meals with friends while soaking up far-reaching ocean views from the dining room window.

Following dinner, retire to the lounge with its deep blue corner sofa and welcoming armchair. Bi-folding doors optimise the sea views and whether you have the doors open in summertime to hear the gentle lap of the waves on the shore, or you’re ready to hunker down over the colder months to watch the stormy seas and skies, it’s simply perfect.

With a good selection of books and games, a smart TV and a cosy wood burner, your family and friends will feel right at home here.

Heading upstairs, New Lodge has 4 wonderful bedrooms (2 king-size en suite, 1 double, and 1 twin bunkbed room,) plus a high-end family bathroom. All the bedrooms have been impeccably furnished with elegant furniture, handcrafted fitted wardrobes, luxury linens and white plantation shutters to create an air of tranquillity. (Please note that the property has 4 bathrooms in total which have a walk-in waterfall shower and/or bath. One of the bathrooms is located downstairs.)

Step Outside

Sitting on a generously sized plot that boasts private parking for 2-3 cars, the holiday home also has two attractive gardens – one at the front of the property with sea views, and a second sheltered garden at the rear that has been laid to lawn. In fine weather, the front deck is an ideal spot for summer BBQs and long family meals around the large outside dining table. You’ll find yourself looking out across the manicured gardens and swathes of agapanthus, to the boats that are moored in the bay, gently swaying and glistening in the Cornish sunshine.

For a change of scenery, head into the rear garden which has plenty of space for children to play on the lawn, plus a tranquil patio area where you can relax on a sun lounger with a book or beverage! Here you will also find a handy outside shower, where salt and sand from the beach can be washed away before heading indoors.

About St Mawes and The Roseland

Located directly opposite the beach, and enjoying panoramic views of the ocean, St Mawes town, and its surrounding countryside, New Lodge is in a highly sought-after position within the Roseland Peninsula in South Cornwall.

As a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, St Mawes and The Roseland is revered for its breathtaking coastal scenery. Enjoying a unique microclimate, The Roseland benefits from exceptionally mild temperatures and attracts walkers, beach lovers, and water sport fans alike.

This quiet area of Cornwall measures just ten miles long by three miles at its widest, yet despite its small size, is packed full of idyllic rural villages, quintessentially English countryside, sensational Cornish beaches – and even a historic castle.

St Mawes lies at the southern end of the peninsula and is the largest village in The Roseland. Benefitting from three gorgeous beaches, this sought-after village draws visitors year after year. Almost entirely surrounded by water, with the Fal Estuary to its West and the Percuil River to its East, The Roseland makes a glorious spot for wild swimming (and indeed many other water-based activities!) in its crystal-clear waters.

Whatever the season, we’re certain that you’ll love coming back to this delightful Cornish haven after a day’s adventures, be that after sun-soaked beach days or long coastal rambles in wintertime. New Lodge is a holiday home where you can replenish the soul and reconnect with loved ones.
